Your skin grows thicker
over time.
What bothered you
ten years ago
wouldn’t bother you now.
All of those big deals
that
you used to tear your hair out
over
they become small.
They become nothing.
While at the same time
all of the small things
that made you smile
day by day
that kept you going
no matter what
they become large.
They become everything.
I have a sign on my refrigerator that says, “enjoy the little things in life for one day you will look back and realize they were the big things “. It is so very true. This was so lovely, Hernan.

Thank you, and I might have subconsciously ripped that off.

Not really….you changed it and made it your own. What you said was beautiful. I think it happens all the time, we are always reading things that stay with us. How could we not, really? We then put our own flavor to it. So much of what we hear seems to be a changed up version of the previous thought. I always worry about that, too, though.
Yours was original. Don’t doubt that. 🙂
